Activities in London
One of the best guides to what’s on in London is the weekly
Time Out magazine. This guide has something for every one
and will keep you up to date with all the goings-on in London.

Museums London is home to over 300 museums
many of them free of charge such as the British Museum, Natural
History, Tate Modern, and Victoria and Albert Museums. Many
others are free after 16.30 including Imperial War, Museum
Of London, Tate Gallery, and the Science Museums.
Clubs and Pubs are a big part of British
culture. You must be over 18 to buy alcohol and many clubs
operate an over- 21 policy. Some clubs will allow you in if
you are wearing not trainers or jeans. Most pubs will close
at 23.00. People then go on to the many clubs and bars which
stay open later. Nightclubs usually charge an entrance fee
and the drinks are more expensive than pubs. You rarely buy
just your own drink when out with friends. Each person takes
it in turns to buy their "round" of drinks for the
other people in the group. Tips in bars and clubs are not
necessary.
Parks There are not many cities in the world
with as many parks as London! During fine weather people go
at every available opportunity to sunbathe and enjoy the open-air.
Most are open from dawn until dusk. The Royal Parks include
Kensington Gardens W8, Regent's Park NW1, St James's and Green
Park SW1. Others, outside zone 1 are Hampstead Heath NW3,
Wimbledon Common SW19 and Alexandra Park N22.
Religious Organisations If you require any
information on the many different religions represented in
London please go to the school reception or look at the information
on the school notice board on the 3rd floor
